Chelsea playmaker Christopher Nkunku has turned down a reunion with RB Leipzig during the ongoing transfer window, according to BILD.
The Blues are currently negotiating with Leipzig for the transfer of Xavi Simons. The Bundesliga outfit have set an asking price of 70 million euros and appear reluctant to lower their valuation.
However, they are willing to change their stance if Nkunku is included as a makeweight. The Blues have no problems in doing so, but the Frenchman is not keen on rejoining Leipzig this summer.
The 27-year-old has his sights on playing Champions League football which Leipzig can't offer. His decision could hamper Chelsea's prospects of landing Simons for a possible discount this month.
Leipzig are not keen on signing anyone else at the current point of time. Nicolas Jackson was linked with the club, but the Senegalese plans to continue his career in the Premier League instead.
Newcastle United have been credited with an interest in Jackson.
