Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart have proposed to pay around £17 million including add-ons to sign Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira.
The Portuguese has been deemed surplus to requirements by the Gunners, and he is expected to leave before the transfer deadline.
Stuttgart are prepared to pay £17m for his services, but Arsenal are looking for at least £25m to sanction his summer departure.
As things stand, Stuttgart have no plans of matching the figure and could explore other targets if Arsenal don't accept their fee.
Parma have also expressed an interest in the former Porto graduate, but reports claim that the Serie A outfit prefer a loan deal.
It is highly unlikely that Arsenal will sanction another temporary exit. The club are keen to recoup funds for a late spending spree.
It won't be a surprise if they decide to sell him to Stuttgart for a small hike. A package of £20m could persuade them to do business.
Vieira was left of the matchday squad for the season opener.
