Arsenal are reportedly keen on landing Palmeiras wonderkid Luiz Benedetti before the transfer window closes on September 1.
The Gunners are actively on the hunt for a new centre-back and they have identified Bayer Leverkusen's Piero Hincapie as the ideal replacement for Jakub Kiwior, who is close to joining Porto on loan with a buy obligation.
A deal has yet to be agreed between the clubs, but there is optimism that it will be reached in the next 24 to 48 hours. Amidst this, reports in Brazil claim that Arsenal are also keen on landing teenage centre-back Benedetti.
The Gunners have offered 10 million euros for the 19-year-old, but Palmeiras want at least 15 million euros including bonuses to part ways with the highly-rated defender.
Arsenal are yet to come up with an improved proposal for the teenager. Barcelona and Inter Milan are also keeping tabs and could make offers of their own for the centre-back.
Benedetti is open to making the switch to Europe this summer.
