Manchester United are already contemplating an approach for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, according to Teamtalk.
The Red Devils were keen on landing a new midfielder this summer, but did not find a suitable target before the transfer deadline.
They are likely to revisit the transfer market in January and it is claimed that Wharton could be the subject of serious interest.

The Red Devils did not make an offer for him over the summer, but could weigh up a move for January based on the progress made.
Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte are the club's defensive midfielders at the moment and their performances will be assessed.

Sporting Lisbon's Morten Hjulmand has also been linked with a move.
