Chelsea eyeing move for Serie A striker in January

Chelsea are reportedly keen on landing Bologna striker Santiago Castro when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

  • The Blues invested in the striking department over the summer with the purchases of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

Pedro has already made an instant impact for the Blues, but Delap is presently on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.

Delap is due to return to first-team action during the festive period, but the Blues are still exploring the transfer market for a striker.

Castro has now emerged as a potential target for the west London giants. The 21-year-old has two goal contributions this term.

His statistics are not necessarily very impressive, but reports claim that the Blues believe in the potential of the young marksman.

Juventus consider him as a replacement for Dusan Vlahovic next summer, but the Blues could beat them to his services in January.

Castro's arrival could pave the way for Marc Guiu's exit. The Spaniard could pursue a new club at the end of the campaign.
