Enzo Maresca confirms Chelsea striker is ready to start vs Sunderland

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Marc Guiu is ready to make his full Premier League debut against Sunderland on Saturday.

The Blues have been in impressive form over recent weeks, and have the opportunity to climb into the top four with a win against the Black Cats.

Ahead of the game, Maresca was asked whether Guiu is ready to start in the Premier League, having made his full Champions League debut in midweek.

The Italian replied: 'Absolutely, yes.'

Liam Delap was signed to compete with Joao Pedro for the striker's role last summer, but the Englishman picked up a hamstring injury in August.

He has recently returned back to full training, and could make his return next month. In his absence, Guiu has the chance to prove his credentials.

Guiu opened the scoring in the 5-1 Champions League rout of Ajax and has the chance to bag his maiden league goal for the Blues tomorrow.
