Manchester United are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Napoli over the permanent transfer of Rasmus Hojlund.
The Dane joined the Serie A champions on loan last summer after the Red Devils made a huge outlay to land Benjamin Sesko.
Hojlund has already made a big impression at the Naples outfit. He has registered four goals from six appearances thus far.
Napoli have an obligation to buy if they qualify for the Champions League next term, but they are ready to step up the process.
The Italian giants have opened talks with the Red Devils and a permanent deal worth £38 million could be finalised this winter.
United are open to an early deal such that they can utilise the funds received for the purchase of a defensive midfielder.
They have already identified the likes of Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton as their targets, but the duo may not be available this winter.
A loan deal could be pursued for another alternative.
