Manchester United have a genuine interest in signing former Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher during the January transfer window, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Mancunian giants were determined to bolster the midfield department last summer, but they could not find a suitable solution before the deadline approached.
A loan offer was made for Gallagher before the deadline, but Atletico Madrid were not keen on the proposal. Despite this, United continue to be linked with the Englishman.
There is reportedly a genuine interest from the Red Devils in the former Chelsea graduate, and they are ready to make another loan proposal for his services.
Gallagher was happy to stay at Atletico last summer, but he could push for a transfer in January with a spot in the England squad up for grabs for the World Cup.
England boss Thomas Tuchel remains a big admirer of Gallagher, but he is unlikely to secure a World Cup berth unless he impresses with regular playing time.
He has been a regular substitute for Atletico this term.
