Manchester United are reportedly poised to release Jadon Sancho when his contract expires at the end of June.
The England international joined Aston Villa on loan last summer, but the Villains don't have an option to buy.
His current deal lasts until June 2026, and reports claim that United could decide against extending his contract.
The club have an extension clause for another season, but they are reluctant to pay his £350,000 per week salary.
Hence, Sancho could be on his way out on a free transfer.
This could open the door for some elite European clubs to sign him. Borussia Dortmund hold a particular interest.
The German outfit were keen on re-signing Sancho for a third time last summer, but could not agree on a loan deal.
Sancho has also been linked with a number of Saudi Pro League clubs, and he could be tempted to move to the Middle East.
Alongside Sancho, Marcus Rashford is expected to leave next summer. Barcelona have an option to buy him after his loan stint.
