David Beckham will be playing an integral part of the 2010 World Cup qualification campaign, according to England boss Fabio Capello. The Italian also hinted that David Bentley still has a big role to play.
The England boss said: "Beckham is not important only for free-kicks and corners.
"He is important during all the game, not just the set-pieces.
"When I didn't pick Beckham for the first game, against Switzerland, a lot of people ask me 'why?' "Now I pick Beckham, and they ask me 'why?' he was picked. In the squad we have good players.
"I hope that in the future we have more good players, and then I will have to choose.
"What I prefer is to have two or three players competing for every position on the pitch.
"It is possible next time Bentley will be in the first team, and another time Beckham will be.
"But I will choose depending on the game, depending on the moment. I don't know the future."
