Manchester United have made a surprise approach to sign Sergio Ramos on a free transfer in January, according to Fichajes.
The Red Devils are presently short in the central defensive department with both Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt injured.
On top of this, Noussair Mazraoui will be unavailable for several weeks as he is scheduled to play for Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Amidst this, it is claimed that United have made a shock move to land Ramos, who is a free agent after parting ways with Monterrey.
Ramos will be available on a Bosman transfer from January 1 and United are reportedly looking to bring him back to Europe.
The Spaniard is unlikely to start regularly for the Red Devils, but he would provide quality and experience in the back three.
Real Madrid have also been linked with an emotional reunion with Ramos after another lengthy injury blow for Eder Militao.
