Chelsea are pushing to land the signature of Greek midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas from Genk, according to Teamtalk.
The Blues have built a reputation of signing emerging talents under their current owners, and the trend could continue next year.
They have been closely monitoring Karetsas over the last few months, and are prepared to step up with a formal approach very soon.
The youngster turned 18 last month, and he can therefore be registered by the Blues when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
If Chelsea were to sign him, they are most likely to loan him back to Genk in order to continue his development until the summer.
Karetsas can operate as an attacking midfielder or a right winger. He has made 12 goal contributions in 27 appearances for Genk this term.
Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the talented playmaker, who could reportedly leave Genk for around €40 million.
Chelsea are leading the pursuit of the teenager, as things stand.
