Manchester United have entered talks with Besiktas to land the signature of midfielder Wilfred Ndidi this winter, according to Sky Sports.
The Red Devils are determined to reinforce their midfield department before the winter transfer deadline, and they are exploring a low-cost solution.
AC Milan's Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been linked over the past few days, but the Englishman could be on his way to Aston Villa on a permanent deal.
Amidst this, it is claimed that Ndidi has emerged as a top target for the Red Devils and the Nigerian is anxious to make a return to English football.
United were first linked with Ndidi during his time at Leicester, but they decided to pursue the services of Manuel Ugarte from PSG instead.
Ndidi has now opened the door for a mid-season move and it depends on whether the Red Devils can convince Besiktas to do business with them.
The Turkish outfit could be reluctant to part ways with him this winter unless they receive a reasonable transfer package of around £15 million.
