"We shall sign Eto'o" says Galliani

02 June 2008 - 21:24

Adriano Galliani has expressed his desire to sign a world-class striker than an attacking midfielder. He also suggested that the Milan coach, Carlo Ancelotti will surely like the services of Barca striker Samuel Eto'o.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Galliani spoke about his interest in signing Eto'o, Barcelona's ace striker. "We shall sign Eto’o if the amount of the operation will be compatible with our balances.”

He said that the club had four attackers - Inzaghi, Borriello, Pato and Paloschi - and he will certainly sign a striker with similar qualities. Galliani also added that Ancelotti would like to have the services of Eto'o whom he consider as top-class.

He revealed that Milan is searching for a world class player. “It’s very probable that he’s more of a striker than an attacking midfielder. However, the important thing is that he’s world class on the pitch, not just in the name. Think about Rivaldo and Kaka: the first one arrived as a world class player, but after a year he wasn’t like that anymore; the second one arrived not as a world class player, but he became so on the pitch in the space of one year.”
