Manchester City are ready to go head-to-head with Manchester United to land Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson at the end of the campaign.
Anderson signed for Forest from Newcastle United in the summer of 2024 and has since evolved into one of the best defensive midfielders in the division.
He has won an average of more than eight duels per game, while also making eight recoveries and three tackles per outing. He has become a firm target for elite clubs.
United have held a long-term interest in his services, but they are set to face fierce competition from the Cityzens in the pursuit of the England international.
Anderson does not hold an immediate ambition of winning trophies and rather prefers a sporting project where he can develop further and become world-class.
In that case, United could have an edge over the Cityzens as they could guarantee him a starting role with Casemiro's exit. At City, he may be a back-up to Rodri.
