Manchester United are reportedly keen on landing the signature of Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes at the end of the season.
The Red Devils are poised to reinforce the midfield department this summer with Casemiro confirmed to leave. The 34-year-old will end his four-year association with United when his contract expires on June 30.
The club have already been linked with Magpies midfielder Sandro Tonali and AS now claim that the Mancunian giants are weighing up a surprise approach for Guimaraes during the next transfer window.
Guimaraes will enter the last two years of his Magpies contract this summer and as things stand, he has yet to be convinced to prolong his stay further.
This could urge the Magpies to contemplate his departure. They are set to miss out on European football and may require a big-money exit to balance their books.
Still, Newcastle are set to demand a premium transfer fee and could hold out for upto £135 million to part ways with their talismanic leader.
