Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing Nottingham Forest defender Murillo as a replacement for Lisandro Martinez this summer.
Martinez has been hampered by injuries during his time with the Red Devils and he is currently on the sidelines with a short-term calf problem.
United are growing frustrated over the Argentine's injury woes and it is claimed that they want Murillo to replace in their starting plans.
Forest are aware of the growing interest in the Brazil international and they are reportedly bracing for his departure in the next transfer window.
The 23-year-old is likely to cost at least £60 million at the end of the season. United are not alone in the pursuit of the highly-rated centre-back.
Chelsea and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the past and they could provide fierce competition in the Brazilian's pursuit.
Murillo is likewise attracting interest from abroad. Forest will hope for a bidding war in order to increase his transfer valuation further.
