Liverpool have extended the contract of goalkeeper Alisson Becker ahead of the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield this weekend.
The Brazil international has been a mainstay between the sticks over several seasons and the Reds have decided to secure his short-term future.
Alisson's previous deal was due to expire in June next year, and they have triggered an extension clause to prolong his stay until the summer of 2027.
Liverpool have had a poor defence of their Premier League title and they are currently sixth in the table after the shock defeat to Wolves on the road.
They have the opportunity to climb up the table tomorrow. They could jump straight to fourth on goal difference If Aston Villa or Manchester United lose. They face each other.
Chelsea, who are goal difference ahead of the Reds, had the chance to climb to third today, but failed to do so after a disappointing loss to Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.
