Mattos to Portsmouth

Brazilian midfielder Marcelo Mattos has been linked with a move to Portsmouth. Harry Redknapp has admired the player for some time, and could be set to make a £5 million offer for the Panathinaikos man.

Mattos previously played for Corinthians, and had enjoyed a spell playing alongside Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez.



Fans of the Football Manager series will remember Mattos to be a highly rated youngster who was purchasable at a cheap price; but these days Mattos comes with a hefty price tag - more than £5 million.



Redknapp is expected to make a move for the player soon, with an abundance of transfer funds available to him.
