Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo are poised to put pen-to-paper on new long-term contracts, according to journalist David Ornstein.
Maguire has been fantastic under interim boss Michael Carrick since the turn of the year. His only blunder was his sending off against Bournemouth yesterday.
His current deal expires at the end of June and United have now decided to prolong his stay for a couple of seasons. Meanwhile, Mainoo is also expected to renew.
His present contract concludes in June next year, and United are prepared to hand him a long-term deal until 2030 at least with the option for another 12 months.
United are presently third in the league standings and seven points ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea. They are on course to qualify for the Champions League next term.
This would require a bigger squad depth and it does not surprise us that Maguire will be staying with the Red Devils beyond the ongoing campaign.
