Manchester United have their sights on landing Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali once they have signed Ederson from Atalanta this summer, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The Red Devils are expected to sign multiple midfielders ahead of next season. They have already sorted a fee with Atalanta for Ederson, and he could undergo his medical very soon.
Alongside the Brazilian, United are also keen on signing Tonali, who has been heavily linked with Arsenal too. The Gunners were touted to sign him last winter, but a deal never materialised.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has earmarked him as a top target for the summer transfer window, but United could yet provide fierce competition in the pursuit of the ex-AC Milan midfielder.
United manager Michael Carrick is likewise a huge admirer of the 26-year-old and has urged the hierarchy to proceed with an approach. The Italian is likely to cost a fee of around 86 million pounds, as per reports.
