Man Utd make transfer decision on Mateus Fernandes

Man Utd think Fernandes price is too high

Man Utd make transfer decision on Mateus Fernandes

09 June 2026 - 20:02

Manchester United have a firm stance on the asking price for West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes, according to The Athletic.

  • Man City preparing talks for Chelsea defender
  • Chelsea make new decisions on Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella

  • The Red Devils have already secured an agreement to land Atalanta star Ederson, but they are still in the market for another quality midfielder.

Fernandes is one of the top names on their wishlist, but it appears a deal could be difficult to pursue due to the Hammers' staggering price tag.

West Ham want at least £80m to part ways with the former Southampton man, which is reportedly deemed to be excessive by the Red Devils.

United believe the price will reduce as the transfer window progresses. For now, they have no plans of pursuing a deal for the Portuguese ace.

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also keen on the 21-year-old, but they are also unlikely to make such a huge outlay for the midfielder.

Fernandes has been made aware of the Hammers' valuation. He is not pushing for a move away from east London at the current point.
