Arsenal are pushing hard to sign Roma midfielder Manu Kone ahead of Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid this summer, according to Il Tempo.
The Gunners are keen on landing a versatile midfielder in the next transfer window, and they have been linked with multiple names so far.
Kone has now emerged as the prime target, and Il Tempo claim that they are eager to secure his signature ahead of Inter as well as Atletico.
Roma are open to parting ways with their prized asset, given they need to recoup a sizeable amount before June 30 to balance their books.
Kone is presently with France at the World Cup, which is expected to make a deal difficult to go through. Still, a transfer could happen in a short while.
Arsenal could prise him away for a package between €40-50m. If Kone were to join, it could pave the way for the departure of Christian Norgaard.
Brondby have been touted to land the former Denmark international.
