Manchester United are planning to enter talks with Barcelona for the transfer of midfielder Marc Casado, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Mancunian giants have already agreed to sign a new midfielder in Ederson. He will join from Atalanta after the World Cup.
The club are likewise keen on landing West Ham United's Mateus Fernandes and talks are underway with the Hammers for his services.
A third midfielder could be signed too if Manuel Ugarte departs. That looks more likely to happen after a poor 2025/26 season for him.
Casado is a better ball-playing midfielder than Ugarte and could be open to a new challenge, having been starved of playing time at Barcelona.
He had a good run of games at the start of the campaign, but was largely sidelined in the back end with a fully fit midfield to choose from.
A package of around 30 million euros could be sufficient to prise him away. United may need to convince him still as he won't be a regular starter.
