Arsenal are prepared to make a fresh bid to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes this summer, according to BBC Sport journalist Sami Mokbel.
The Gunners are determined to land a marquee midfielder in the current transfer window and Guimaraes has been identified as the prime target for manager Mikel Arteta.
Arteta has admired him from his Lyon days and reports claim that the Brazil international has already given the green light to join the Premier League champions this summer.
The Gunners have already had two offers worth £55m and £65m turned down and they are prepared to test the Magpies' resolve with an improved offer worth £70m this week.
There is no indication that Newcastle will part ways with the 28-year-old, who is also their captain, but their stance could change too, given his contract expires in June 2028.
The Magpies may feel they can't secure a better resale price in future. If Guimaraes were to insist on a transfer, his wish could be granted soon.
