  • The Gunners are exploring proposals for Jesus this summer, and there is a strong possibility he could be sold before the end of the month.

Arsenal have had Watkins on their radar for the last two years, and they could make a renewed approach for the Englishman to replace Jesus.

Watkins has been one of the Premier League's most consistent strikers. He netted 16 times in the English top flight in the recent campaign.

The 30-year-old has personally admitted that he is a boyhood Arsenal fan and could be tempted to join the Gunners if an opportunity comes by.

Villa have had financial concerns to deal with throughout the summer and could be prepared to sanction Watkins' sale for 40 million pounds.

Arsenal could face competition from Manchester United for the Englishman, who registered 21 goals in all competitions for Villa last term.
