Assuncao to Sunderland?

09 June 2008 - 23:07

Porto are expected to have a summer clear out after the match fixing allegations that saw them removed from the Champions League for next year, and Paulo Assuncao has emerged as a target for Roy Keane's Sunderland.

  • Chelsea make Malo Gusto transfer decision
  • Arsenal favourites to sign 26yo Newcastle star?
  • The 28 year old Brazilian midfielder has spent the last three years at Porto, since joining from Greek side AEK Athens.

The player is now being linked with a move to the Premiership after admitting an interest in moving to England.

It is understood that Assuncao will be using the infamous Webster clause to remove himself from his Porto contract.
