Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres is one of the names on Barcelona's radar to bolster their striking department before the transfer deadline.
The Gunners currently have Kai Havertz as their first-choice striker, with Gyokeres as the back-up. The Swede was an unused substitute for the season opener last week, which has increased speculation over his future.
BBC Sport now claim that Barcelona have almost accepted defeat in the pursuit of Julian Alvarez, given Atletico Madrid have no plans of negotiating with them before the transfer window formally closes.
As a result, the La Liga champions are exploring alternatives in the transfer market and Gyokeres is one of the names on their radar at the moment.
Gyokeres has not been pushing for a move away from the Gunners, but his entourage have established contact with the Blaugrana's hierarchy.
Arsenal could be open to sanctioning his sale if a marquee replacement is found. They could seek to recoup the £64m fee spent on his services.
