Abidal eyes Barcelona stay

Barcelona and France defender Eric Abidal has insisted he is looking forward to staying at the Catalan giants despite rumours linking him with a move to the Premiership. Liverpool were reportedly ready to offer £7 million for Abidal.

"I want to stay at FC Barcelona, I signed for four years, I still have three left. The press says that Abidal is going to Italy but I do not think so," he said.



"When a coach is changed, we never know. That's a situation I experienced at Monaco with Didier Deschamps.



"If a coach does not trust in you, you have to pack your bags and... But I think I will stay."
