Croatian defender Dario Simic is hoping that he can join Fiorentina after yet another disappointing campaign on the sidelines at AC Milan. The defender is expected to be allowed to leave for around £1.5 million.

  • “I have had lots of offers, but Fiorentina are in pole position,” he said to Firenzeviola.it.

“I haven’t spoken to anyone yet, but I have been close to a move to the Viola in recent years.

“Two years ago and last year I nearly went there, but Milan wouldn’t let me leave. I like Fiorentina. I would like to work with Coach Cesare Prandelli.

“I feel that I am in form and I am ready to play at the highest level for another three or four years.

“Everyone improves when they play for Fiorentina. I have such desire to keep playing at my best and it would be good to meet up with Alberto Gilardino again."
