Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed that left-back Luke Shaw is doubtful to face Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend.
The Red Devils returned to winning ways with a 4-0 rout of Sabah in the Champions League last night, and they now face a stern challenge against Man City in the Premier League.
United beat the Cityzens in the same fixture at Old Trafford earlier this year, but Man City are better prepared for the derby this time around and it could be a more difficult encounter.
Ahead of the game, Carrick has acknowledged that Shaw is a doubt, having missed the recent win over Sabah in the Champions League.
The Englishman was carrying a knock from the Everton game and the club decided not to take a risk with him against Sabah yesterday.
He will be assessed in the coming days, but he could face a race against time to be fit for the much-awaited derby on Sunday afternoon.
