Newcastle United are weighing up a surprise move for Arsenal winger Noni Madueke this winter.
The Magpies have had an average start to the Premier League season and have picked up just five points from four matches.
The hierarchy are likely to add more quality to their attack in the New Year, and Madueke has emerged as a possible target.
Madueke has had limited playing time this campaign, and he has barely played in the league with Bukayo Saka fully fit and firing.
This could urge him to move on, and it appears Newcastle are prepared to test the Gunners' resolve when the transfer window reopens.
Arsenal have no plans to part ways with Madueke at the moment, and it could take a significant fee for them to contemplate his exit.
The Gunners spent £52m to secure his services from Chelsea and may seek a profit on that fee to sanction his sale. A summer exit could be preferred.
