Hull City are hoping to sign Marcus Bent for next season permanently from Charlton Athletic. Wigan turned down the opportunity to make their move for Bent permanent.
Bent has since chose to return to his old club Charlton, and it is understood that Hull City manager Phil Brown wishes to make a move for the talented forward.
Bent was influential in helping guide Wigan to Premiership safety; but there was no guarantee of a permanent move for the forward.
