Italians in for Clichy

20 June 2008 - 08:37

Roma and AC Milan are tempted to make a summer move for Arsenal defender Gael Clichy. It is understood that the French defender has attracted the Italian sides who are both considering making a move for the player.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Arsene Wenger will be reluctant to let Clichy leave, as he considers the player one of his best prospects.

"Clichy is an excellent defender of international class," said Roma boss Luciano Spalletti.

"He is also still very young, so has plenty of football improvement left in him.

"Certainly, it would please me a great deal to see Gael Clichy in a Roma shirt.

"We will have to wait and see what develops."
