Marseille chairman Pape Diouf has confirmed that Hatem Ben Arfa is most certainly a player that he hopes to purchase. The Lyon winger was also linked with a move to Arsenal.

Ben Arfa is valued by his club Lyon in the region of £8 million, but Marseille may have to barter to secure the deal.



“This is a player who interests us and I’ve never made a secret of that,” said Diouf.



“We must discuss with his club as we have been doing over the past few days and things may not move quickly.”
