Arshavin chase heats up

The chase for the transfer of Russian midfielder Andrei Arshavin is really heating up, as both Chelsea and Arsenal lead the way to land the Zenit St Petersburg midfielder for a fee believed to be in the region of £15 million.

  • There are rumours that Chelsea have made contact with Arshavin's agent and are very close to agreeing a move with the player's representatives.



    However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has maintained an interest in the talented Russian, and is set to make a last minute offer to land the talented player that helped Russia to the semi finals of the Euro 2008 tournament in Austria and Switzerland.
