Adebayor: Im ready

Adebayor: I'm ready

20 September 2007 - 15:55

Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed that he is ready to take over Thierry Henry as Arsenal's marksman and fill the void left by the mercurial Frenchman who joined Barcelona in the summer.

  • Man Utd expecting €80m boost with double player sale
  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs PSG, Mamadou Sarr starts
  • Speaking to the official Arsenal website, Adebayor said, "When Thierry left, guys like me and Robin knew that we were going to play, so our concentration had to go another way.

"With Thierry, we knew he would score 30 goals in a season. At the moment we do not have anyone who we are sure can score 30 goals, so we have to put our heart in the game and do our maximum.

"In the dressing room, we all know we have a responsibility. The boss told me I have a chance to play this season. I knew when I arrived at the Club that this would come and I am ready for it. I just want to give my all, enjoy myself on the pitch and work hard for the team.

"The most important thing is always the team. If I score 100 goals and we do not win anything that is nothing but if I can score 10 goals and we win a lot of things?"
