Blackburn: Samba not leaving

23 September 2007 - 13:09

Blacburn's manager Mark Hughes has moved to reject rumours of a transfer away from the club for 23-year-old Christopher Samba, the defender who has been outstanding since moving from Hertha Berlin. Sevilla and Inter are interested in the youngster.

  • "A lot of my players are targets for the so-called top clubs," Hughes told the News of the World.

"We like to think we are not a bad club either.

"Chris has got another few years left on his deal so there are no worries there.

"It's all about where players are at certain stages of their career. We can provide a lot to players here.

"It's a good place to work and ply your trade and players know that and want to come here and enjoy the work they get.

"Every summer I have to knock back bids from clubs interested in my players because they're good players.

"That will always be the situation - but that doesn't faze us."
