Moyes to stay at Everton

16 August 2008 - 11:58

Everton boss David Moyes has revealed he has no intention of quitting Everton and hopes to sign a new deal with the Toffees as soon as possible. Moyes had been linked with a move to Serie A earlier in the summer.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Spurs, Gilchrist starts
  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs

  • Moyes said: "I never thought I wanted to turn my back on this, I have never thought about quitting. My biggest responsibility is to the players here.

"I feel I am letting them down. They trust me to get it right and get players who will help them make Europe again.

"I feel loyal to the supporters and everyone at the club, but even more so to my players.

"I'm the one that has to bring new players in. We would find it very difficult to cope if we don't strengthen."
