Fergie sets Ron goal challenge

Fergie sets Ron goal challenge

30 October 2008 - 06:13

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson set star player Cristiano Ronaldo the incredible feat of matching last season's challenge of bagging 40 goals.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Ronaldo scored two against West Ham on Wednesday night, but Ferguson is expecting even more from the Portuguese international.

Fergie said: "Cristiano is getting there (back to his best) without question.

"He missed a lot of pre-season work but he's getting work now just with playing games and is improving all the time.

"He's got five for the season now and he can go on to get between 25 and 42. He's capable. He might even get 42 goals again. He's such a threat in the penalty box and I thought he took his goals very well."
