Cech ready for landmark 101

04 November 2008 - 06:14

Petr Cech has revealed he is delighted to have reached his 100 game landmark for Chelsea, and is eyeing a record breaking 205 games, held by Peter Bonetti. Cech will take on Roma in the Champions League this week.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • "I am glad that I have reached the 100," he told his own website.

"If I go on like this, I might break his record in five years.

"Even more I am satisfied with the fact that I have made most of them in the Premier League and in the Champions League, in the two best football competitions in the world.

"It is also a good result for the defensive play of the whole team."

Ahead of tonight's crucial game against Roma in the Champions League, Cech was well prepared: "We flew on Sunday, in order to have enough time for rehabilitation and to be able to prepare for the game as best as we can.

"We want to win as three points would practically seal our place past the group stages.

"To be through as soon as possible is our objective, so then we are able to concentrate fully on the Premier League and the Carling Cup."
