Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano has been named as the new captain of the Argentina national team by his boss, Argentinian legend Diego Maradona.

  • "I convinced him because it was my decision. For my ear at the National team it need him as captain. Javier can encourage a lot inside the field, we do not ask him to be immediately the leader, his game will give it," Maradona said.



    "What I want is someone next to me who has lived limit moment to be able to transmit them to the rest of the players."
