Hutchings: Heskey staying

26 September 2007 - 19:25

Wigan manager Chris Hutchings has denied that Emile Heskey will be allowed to leave the club during the January transfer window. Newcastle are believed to be interested in signing the player, who recently returned back to international football for England against Israel and Russia.

  • Hutchings told the Wigan Evening Post: "I haven't heard anything about Emile being linked with other clubs. But with the way he played leading up to his injury, it's not a surprise big clubs are being linked with him. It's unfortunate he's going to be out of action for the length of time he is, as Emile is a major part of what we do".
