Roy Keane quits Sunderland

Roy Keane quits Sunderland

04 December 2008 - 12:22

Roy Keane has apparently quit his job at Sunderland, according to reports this morning. After a series of discussions with the club's board and chairman, Niall Quinn, it appears that both parties felt it was time for a change.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Sunderland are now on the look out for a new manager, and Mick McCarthy and Gerard Houllier are the shock two names that have been suggested at this early stage already.

Apparently, there was a breakdown in the relationship between Keane and his players, and this may have been part of the reason for his departure.

It is also understood that Keane's recent team selections have disappointed the club's board, who felt that the 4-1 defeat to Bolton at home was enough.
