21 January 2009 - 07:09

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admitted that he was gutted he missed out on a deal for Welsh international striker Craig Bellamy, who made a move to Man City instead.

  • Chelsea plan shock swoop for Sporting CP star
  • Chelsea have clear stance on signing Victor Osimhen
  • Redknapp has long been a fan of the forward, but the player opted to make a move North instead.

Redknapp said: "I wanted Craig and would have loved him here.

"He's a fighter and wants to win. He also has terrific ability but once City come in it's difficult to compete because they are working another level. We couldn't get anywhere near him."
