Javier Saviola has emerged as a target for Liverpool on transfer deadline day, with Rafa Benitez reportedly ready to pay Real Madrid £1.5 million GBP to bring the Argentinian whizz to Anfield until the end of the season.
Saviola has been linked with several Premiership clubs, but as yet a deal had failed to materialise.
Portsmouth and Man City were both eyeing a move for the former River Plate attacker.
However, now Liverpool have emerged as the favorites to land Saviola, as a direct replacement for Robbie Keane who is expected to return to Tottenham at some stage today.
