Davide Santon

03 February 2009 - 07:51

Young right back Davide Santon is regarded by many in Italy as one of the best potential youngsters in the country. The player is currently playing for Inter Milan, but the likes of Man City are already interested.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Santon is a very versatile young player, capable of playing at right back and left back, whilst also being known for playing in midfield for Inter Milan's youth sides.

The full back has already represented the first-team for Inter under Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese coach has recently praised Santon for the way he has filled in in several positions.

Recently, Mourinho blasted fellow Inter Milan youngster Balotelli, but had nothing but praise for Santon: "Fortunately Santon's attitude helps him but that's not the case with Mario Balotelli!"

Mourinho later filled the youngster with more praise, when he said of the player: Do you want to know what Davide’s main problem is? It’s Maicon. Santon is not a regular in the starting XI, only because he has Maicon ahead of him."

Many in Italy already believe that Santon has the ability to be the 'next Paolo Maldini', and the player has impressed at under-21 level for his national side.
