Ronaldo to Real Madrid, finally

Ronaldo to Real Madrid, finally

23 May 2009 - 01:49

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with Real Madrid for almost two seasons and it seems the summer transfer window will see the Portugese winger signing for the Spanish giants in a world record £70m deal. Sources close to the player say the player has made up his mind to join Real Madrid.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Spurs, Gilchrist starts
  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs

  • Manchester United might lose yet another star player in the summer, in addition to out of contract Carlos Tevez, in the form of explosive winger Cristiano Ronaldo. A summer move worth £70m is in the cards, all depends on the election of Florentino Perez as the new president in the Spanish capital.

Ronaldo had enjoyed all the success he wants with Fergie's United - three successive titles and a champions league title - it seems he needs a better challenge in the coming years. Real Madrid, on the other hand, is trying hard to get back on winning ways, Ronaldo might be their instant saviour.

A source in Man Utd said that he[Cristiano] looks to have made up his mind, although he does not want to say that publicly with the champions league game coming up next week.

"But in his mind that will be his last. The fact Real trailed Barcelona in La Liga this season only makes the challenge more exciting for him."

Ronaldo was all set to make a move to Real Madrid last summer - only SAF's magic made him stay. However, it seems that the player will leave this summer.
