Chelsea are set to bid for Inter Milan's Maicon, for a whopping £22m, with Real Madrid also in talks with the player. Chelsea already have a strong right back in Jose Bosingwa who was signed for £16.3m not long ago.
Maicon is a top transfer target for many European clubs after his impressive performances in the Serie A for many seasons. With Ancelotti set to sign for Chelsea next week, Chelsea will be looking forward to strengthen their defence by adding the attacking right back to their squad.
The Italian newspaper, Gazzetta dello Sport, reports that Maicon is recommended by their new boss, Carlo Ancelotti. The AC Milan boss rates the Brazilian winger highly.
