Yuri Zhirkov would be welcome at Chelsea, according to Florent Malouda, the player who potentially could be in competition with the Frenchman at Stamford Bridge should the Russian move to England.
"Of course. It's just the beginning because with Ashley Cole left we have confidence so it gives us a lot for the next years." said Malouda.
It is understood that Zhirkov is keen to make a £12 million move to Chelsea from his current club.
